Forming ENGAGING NONVIOLENCE study/action groups

Begin a new year of peacemaking on Saturday, January 18, from 3:00 to 4:30 pm, when we’ll inaugurate our campaign for Nonviolent Wilmington.

We’ll also introduce you to Engaging Nonviolence, a brand-new study-action program that will actively engage us in the creative power and practice of nonviolence. 

Participating in an Engaging Nonviolence small-group workshop will offer you the opportunity to:

• learn how to respond to violence
• find ways to live a more just and peaceful life
• deepen your relationship with yourself and others
• experience the power of nonviolent social change

At this meeting we will also discuss additional ways that you can directly participate in creating Nonviolent Wilmington through the active practice of nonviolence.

Please put January 18 on your calendar.

We’ve been preparing the way for Nonviolent Wilmington for several years through efforts such as the Movement for a Culture of Peace and Peace Week Delaware. Wilmington is one of nine cities where an active Nonviolent Cities program is under way. The burgeoning Nonviolent Cities movement is described in detail at thePace e Bene website.

 Now it’s time for peace-loving folks to join together and begin a campaign for a new society—and a new culture of peace—in our city and state. We hope to see you on January 18. Can you think of a better way to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?
